Dear Covenant Friends,
We come from a legacy of women and men
whose efforts and actions have left us a history of
“sacred stories” because they continually asked,
“What more can I do for God’s poor?” and
“Who is my neighbor to be served?”.
At Covenant, we weave the threads of our founding
congregations’ stories into our fabric and our own
evolving stories. By so doing, we strengthen the
healing ministry of Jesus Christ. The stories of the
congregations, told side by side with our stories,
will offer inspiration to those who continue in our
footsteps. We are proud to bring just a few of our
sacred stories to you in this report.
We have much for which to be grateful in 2007…
for the work we accomplished in Quality,
Environmental Stewardship, as well as the retention of our “A” bond rating with a stable outlook. We
understand that we must be fiscally sound and mission driven for our ministry to thrive.
At our leadership forum in April, which was a pilgrimage to Rome, we were led by Fr. Gerry Arbuckle, a
fellow traveler on the journey of our Public Juridic Person (PJP). We were thrilled that our efforts as a PJP
were lauded by the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life as we
were recognized as a self perpetuating PJP.
We know you will enjoy reading about our successes throughout the System and these stories that make a
ministry of our work. We thank those throughout Covenant Health Systems who make these stories reality.
We recognize the invaluable contributions of our many partners and collaborators, and are deeply
appreciative of your continued support.
Sincerely,
David R. Lincoln
